We are seeking an Assistant Property Manager to help manage operations of our Housing Department , including all MSK-owned residential properties. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with robust residential and/or hospitality management experience. Are you ready for the challenge!?
Under the mentorship of the Property Manager, the Assistant Property Manager will:
Manage the technical/mechanical operations of the Housing Department of a subset of the Center owned residential and commercial properties.
Supervise and guide Housing services staff who are assigned to the properties you will oversee (e.g., Superintendents, Mechanical, Residential Housing Maintenance Aides, & Residential Door Attendants).
You will be required to live at a designated apartment where they will assure consistent technical and managerial support for all Housing Operations on a 24 hour/7 day basis.
Perform the responsibilities and duties of the Property Manager in that person's absence.
A provider of work directives, delegating responsibilities as necessary and removing obstacles get work done.
Able to hold yourself and others accountable in order to achieve goals and live up to commitments.
Resourceful, securing and deploying resources optimally and efficiently.
Effective at building formal and informal networks inside and outside the organization to further departmental and institutional goals.
Property management and/or hospital experience required for external applicants; internal applicants with at least 5 years of MSK management experience will be considered.
Excellent supervisory skills required, including experience with performance appraisals, corrective action, etc.
A High School diploma (GED); Bachelor's degree preferred.
Familiarity with the proficiency requirements for various trades.
Knowledge of applicable City, State and Federal Building Department codes and any requirements from said agencies for the effective management of the Centers real estate portfolio is essential
Strong ability to work independently and the knowledge to take action when required.
Requires excellent communication and administrative skills to write reports, prepare and give presentations to staff, and discuss work orders with a variety of personnel throughout the institution, including external contractors.
Please note, we will provide an MSK designated apartment to the Assistant Property Manager.
